Make a child happy this Children’s Day

24 July 2021 – 31 October 2021

JCI Mandarin concluded the online fundraising campaign for Singapore Children’s Society, Make a Child Happy This Children’s Day, with a cheque presentation session on 10 November 2021.

The fundraising campaign was from 24th July 2021 to 31st October 2021. It was done through the Give2Children (G2C) platform owned by Singapore Children’s Society, as well as the Giving.sg platform.⁣

We are pleased to share that we have raised a total of $πŸπŸ’,πŸ’πŸπŸ”. All funds raised will go directly to the general funds of Singapore Children’s Society.⁣

The committee was honoured to have met up with Singapore Children’s Society’s Chairman and JCI Senator Koh Choon Hui, DUBC, who was also 1968 JCI Singapore Past President.

JCI Senator Koh has shared many nuggets of wisdom on both his personal career and JCI journey – his mindset, his experience as well as his passion of contributing to society and to the next generation. The committee is grateful for the insightful session by JCI Senator Koh.

Huge thanks to Singapore Children’s Society for presenting us with a token of appreciation, hand-drawn by one of their beneficiaries.

We quote from the movie, Zootopia (featured in the token of appreciation):

“No matter what kind of person you are, I implore you: Try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognise that change starts with you.”

Thank you for joining us to make a child happy this Children’s Day.

December Christmas GMM (Gifting with Mandarin Members)

19 & 21 December 2020

In this season of giving, we had a simple but meaningful session together with our friends and family.

Due to this year’s pandemic situation, we were not able to carry out our annual Silver Screening 2-for-1 and Gift of Autumn events.

However, we have managed to bless 800 Seniors over 2 days!

We would love to thank Sian Chay Medical Institution for their kind donation of cakes and reduced sugar orange juices, and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society (THK) for working with us to make this event happen.

Skillsfuture Advice

11 July 2020

We had a skills-future training with Southeast CDC that was specially organized for us. During the pandemic, everyone might not be having an easy time in their lives and career, and many do not know what aids and grants are available.

The workshop was especially useful for SMEs and self-employed members to understand what are the aids available, to help upgrade themselves and their team.
